The best events of spring around la morra and the hills of Barolo

After a final taste of winter, the snow has melted away to let the hazelnut trees bud and flowers bloom in the Langhe spring weather. The hills are waking up, and there’s no better season to appreciate them. Here, we want to highlight a couple of not-to-be-missed events to experience the Langhe and Roero in the springtime and, possibly, stop by our winery to get to know our history and production.

EASTER AND PASQUETTA: THE MARCARINI WINE SHOP REOPENS!

We proudly announce the reopening of our Wine Shop. It has been completely renovated and is ready to welcome you to taste our new and exclusive products. Beginning Sunday, March 27 you can taste—almost in exclusive preview—our Barolo 2012 (Brunate and La Serra), as well as Roero Arneis 2015, the Roero’s most prestigious white wine.

But that’s not all!

We have a sweet surprise for all visitors: Taste our Dolcetto 2015 Fontanazza, not yet released on the market. 2015 was an extraordinary vintage, and we think our wine will leave you speechless. The season’s hot, dry climate was in fact perfect for dolcetto grapes, giving them unique, full aromas and a great character!

In our Wine Shop, you will also find products made from hazelnuts that we cultivate on our land. We have a huge selection of flavors, including toasted and salted, hot chili pepper, cinnamon and sugar,  caramelized praline, toasted with sugar and truffle, and praline.

CHOCOLATE IN THE COURT OF BAROLO CHINATO – MARCH 28 – Barolo

Don’t forget that March concludes with the delicious event “Chocolate in the Court of Barolo Chinato” (Cioccolato alla Corte del Barolo Chinato). Organized by the Regional Enoteca of Barolo in collaboration with the Comune and Pro Loco, the event presents Barolo Chinato in pairings with chocolate in all of its hues and nuances. Don’t miss our own Barolo Chinato Marcarini in the tasting, produced according to our secret, heritage recipe. From 10:00 am to 6:00 pm at the Regional Enoteca of Barolo, enjoy a bittersweet Pasquetta (March 28, 2016).

VINUM – April 23-25, 30, and May 1 – Alba

April means the beginning of the 40th National Fair of the wines of the Langhe, Roero, and Monferrato. In Alba from April 23-25, the piazzas will be lined with local food and wine producers, aperitivo, street food, earth markets, tastings, and in-depth meetings and conferences. VINUM, however, will continue into the next weekend for two not-to-be-missed events on Sunday, May 1: meet up at 8:30 in Piazza San Paolo for the 15th National Vesparaduno event—take a tour through the hills of Barolo on a Vespa. In addition, there’s the Treasure Hunt in the Langhe and Barolo, this year in its 7th edition. The itinerary comprises about 40 kilometers, to travel in car or on motorcycle. Visit the villages and wineries of the zone following a series of hints, all tied to gastronomy, wine, traditions, and history of the land. For more information and to sign up for the non-competitive treasure hunt, visit turismoinlanga.it.
